The reason I chose this title is that I lost myself in the harmony of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons notes and its effects on me. I can say, This inspiration shows up coincidentally. I was listening to four seasons while I was reading about the innumerable proofs of resurrection and hereafter. Owing to this togetherness. I considered something that I see in my every time and I can’t aware of it.
As we all know, Antonio Vivaldi is an Italian composer who lives in 18.century. He had a pious family. He took violin lessons from his father. And They performed concerts father and son all around Venice in local places. Capital of Renaissance, İtaly, religious family, and violist father are touchstones in Vivaldi’s life and processing of growing one of the best violists in Europe. İn his early teens, he was taught to write liturgical(church music). And he became a priest. He had a great talent for the violin. People were thinking any violinists as talented as him won’t come to the world ever. He taught children violin lessons in his adulthood. His best-known work is the famous Four Seasons. It has been separating into four different movements And every piece of them is telling us another season. It starts with the birds’ singings of the spring, following that with sun and thunderstorms is summer, after that at dawn the hunters with guns and dogs autumn and finally with teeth chattering through the frozen in the icy snow in winter. As a matter of fact, before he wrote these notes, he wrote a poem about four seasons Vivaldi took great pains to relate his music to the texts of the poems, translating the poetic lines themselves directly into the music on the page. This is called ‘program music’ and Four Seasons is well-known for this kind of music. Every piece of the image presents other sounds and parts of music. He played this music with a violin and solo first. But now big orchestras play it with so many instruments. Vivaldi separated each concerto into three movements, fast-slow-fast, and likewise each linked sonnet into three sections. Here are some parts of these poems. It helps to understand Vivaldi- four seasons more clearly:
Spring
Spring has arrived with joy
Welcomed by the birds with happy songs,
And the brooks, amidst gentle breezes,
Murmur sweetly as they flow.
Summer
A gentle breeze blows, but Boreas
Is roused to combat suddenly with his neighbor,
And the shepherd weeps because overhead
Hangs the fearsome storm, and his destiny.
Autumn
The hunters set out at dawn, off to the hunt,
With horns and guns and dogs they venture out.
The beast flees and they are close on its trail.
Already terrified and wearied by the great noise
Of the guns and dogs, and wounded as well
It tries feebly to escape but is bested and dies.
Winter
Frozen and shivering in the icy snow,
In the severe blasts of a terrible wind
To run stamping one’s feet each moment,
One’s teeth chattering through the cold.
But what are the seasons and why are they had been so inspiring for Vivaldi? İmagine that, there are hundreds of thousand kinds of seed under the land. Apple, orange, peach… And we know that all of them have different conditions for growing up. Some of them willing to water, the others willing to sun. And each of them includes different and wonderful tastes and different vitamins. They only have one common special, they’re all in under the land. When the right time comes they’re going to start grow up. And those times circulating and appearing without error. We call them ‘seasons’. As I mentioned, Those all seeds don’t mix under the land. Each has a unique form and shape and is without confusion. They are waiting for being a servant to people. It’s a miracle we face every year.
What was he thinking while writing these notes? How can he describe so well the minimal details in our lives and give us such pleasure while listening to his music? In my opinion, He was thinking seasons has a huge value in human life. We adapt every time in very short times. But this adaption took only three months and ıt circling again and again until the eternity. He thought there is harmony in nature from us to animals, rivers, trees, and in every creature. And he tried to show us this harmony with the music. But how? Have you ever think how can seasons circling and everything resurrections again and again without stopping? İs there an algorithm or a program? Who is the owner of this program?
Now the world we live hadn’t been existing. It has been proved by scientists that the Bing Bang Theory is the event that created the universe. It’s one of the adjectives of god: Ya Tekvin (Arabic), Genesis(English) means to create from nothing to everything. It must be a start point and must be the last point and between these, time moves cynically. Also history, people, geography and seasons. We can say for this loop: ‘The beginning is the end and the end is beginning.’
Each spring we see countless animal and plant species assembled in a few days and then scattered. All tree and plant roots, as well as certain animals, are revived and restored exactly as they were. Other animals are re-created in nearly identical forms. Seeds that appear so alike quickly grow into distinct and differentiated entities, after being brought to full vigor with extraordinary rapidity and ease, in absolute orderliness and harmony.
There is a famous sentence that said an Muslim philosopher: ‘There are many beautiful facts that people can’t see because of hidden under the veils of habits, tradition, and monotony’. Are we watching this harmony? How much can we observe the changes in our lives? There are 300.000 kinds of plants on earth. And all of them revive every year. Are we aware of this? Yes, Vivaldi was aware of it. And He wanted to show us. He wanted us to lıve our lıfe wıth realızıng all thıs beauty that exıst ınour world and not to dıe wıthout observıng all the mıracles we can
